Recently, the project of "R&D and Application of High-Performance Titanium Alloy Pipe for Energy Well Drilling in Harsh Environments", headed by Feng Chun of China National Petroleum Corporation Engineering Materials Research Institute, was approved as a key project of "Advanced Structure and Composite Materials" of the National Key R&D Program 2021 annual project approval.
As the first key special project of the national key research and development plan related to titanium alloy pipes in the field of oil and gas drilling and production in my country, this project focuses on the major demand for titanium alloy pipes in the national energy drilling and production project and will focus on basic research, common key technologies and application demonstration. Carry out work to develop high-performance titanium alloy drill pipe, tubing, and casing manufacturing technology, overcome key technical problems such as special threaded joint manufacturing and its connection, pipe applicability evaluation and application, establish a complete application evaluation system and related standards, and realize industrialization Stable production and engineering demonstration applications lay the foundation for the comprehensive application of domestic high-performance titanium alloy drilling and production pipes in major strategic projects such as deep oil and gas and combustible ice in my country, and lay the foundation for the realization of lightweight pipe strings and the development of onshore ultra-ultra-deep oil and gas exploration. The strategic replacement area provides technical support.
The total cost of the project is 91.3 million yuan, and the central financial fund is 23 million yuan. The implementation period is 4 years. Led by the Engineering Materials Research Institute of China National Petroleum Corporation, and in cooperation with 9 domestic units including Baoji Titanium Industry Co., Ltd., Northwest Nonferrous Metals Research Institute, Tianjin Steel Pipe Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Central South University, the project is based on "production-learning-research-inspection-use". For the structure, carry out the whole chain research and development and collaborative innovation.
Feng Chun said that the implementation of the project will break through my country's major technical bottlenecks in the design, manufacturing, testing, and evaluation, and application of high-performance titanium alloy pipes for energy well drilling in harsh environments, form a complete technology system for the entire industry chain and improve my country's titanium alloys. The level of industrial processing technology and the drilling and production capacity of the energy industry meet the major strategic needs of the country.
