Grade 5 Titanium Forged Ring

Forging refers to the workpiece or blank obtained by forging and deforming the metal blank. Using the pressure on the metal blank to deform it can change its mechanical properties. Forgings can be divided into cold forging and hot forging according to blank processing temperature. The recrystallization temperature of the forging at room temperature is generally higher than that of the hot forging.

Classification by processing temperature

Grade 5 titanium forged ring can be divided into cold forging, warm forging and hot forging according to the temperature of blank during processing. Cold forging is generally processed at room temperature, and hot forging is processed at a temperature higher than the recrystallization temperature of the metal blank.

Classification by structure

The difference in the complexity of the geometric structure of forgings determines that there is an obvious difference between the die forging process and the die design. It is a necessary prerequisite for the process design to clarify the structural type of forgings.

① General industrial forgings refer to civil industries such as machine tool manufacturing, agricultural machinery, agricultural tool manufacturing and bearing industry.

② Forgings for hydro generators, such as main shaft and intermediate shaft.

③ Forgings for thermal power station, such as rotor, impeller, retaining ring, main shaft, etc.

④ Metallurgical machinery, such as cold roll, hot roll and herringbone gear shaft.

⑤ Forgings for pressure vessels, such as cylinder, kettle ring flange and head, etc.

⑥ Marine forgings, such as crankshaft, tail shaft, rudder stock, thrust shaft and intermediate shaft.

⑦ Forging machinery and equipment, such as hammer head, hammer rod, column of hydraulic press, cylinder block, pillar and cylinder block of axle press, etc.

⑧ Module forgings are mainly forging dies for hot die forging hammers.

⑨ According to the statistics, the quality of left and right knuckle forgings accounts for 80% of that of automobile knuckle and right knuckle forgings.

⑩ Locomotive forgings, such as axles, wheels, leaf springs, crankshaft of locomotives, etc. according to statistics, forged parts account for 60% of the mass of locomotives.

⑪ Military forgings, such as gun barrel, door body, bolt support and traction ring, according to statistics, forged parts account for 65% of the mass of tanks.
