Commercial pure titanium ( also known as CPT, commercial pure titanium) commonly used grades are GR1 , GR2 , which are titanium with a star content of not less than 99% and contain less star iron, carbon, oxygen, A dense titanium metal with impurities such as nitrogen and hydrogen. The impurities that have the strongest influence on the mechanical properties of pure titanium are oxygen, hydrogen and iron, especially oxygen, and 0.01% oxygen containing stars will increase the strength a lot. The reaction of hydrogen and titanium is reversible, and the effect of hydrogen on the performance of titanium is mainly manifested as "hydrogen embrittlement". Usually, the hydrogen content should not exceed 0.015%, generally containing oxygen within 0.03%-0.08% and 0.03%-0.05% nitrogen .

Although commercial pure titanium GR1 and GR2  are close-packed hexagonal lattices at room temperature, their axes are relatively small (c/a=1.587) and their strength is low, but their specific strength is high, plasticity is good, and low-temperature toughness is good. Corrosiveness is high. Titanium has good pressure processing performance and poor cutting performance. Titanium can burn when heated in nitrogen, so titanium should be protected by argon during heating and welding. Pure titanium has good welding performance and is not sensitive to heat treatment.

Commercial pure titanium GR1 and GR2 are mainly designed for the processing of stamping parts and corrosion-resistant structural parts with a working temperature below 350C and little stress, but require good plasticity and corrosion resistance, such as aircraft skeleton, skin, and engine. parts, marine corrosion-resistant pipes, valves, pumps and hydrofoils, parts of seawater desalination systems; chemical heat exchangers, pump bodies, distillation towers, coolers, agitators, impellers, fasteners, Three-way, ion pump, compressed air and oil, piston, leaf spring and connecting rod of oil sacrifice engine.
